1. The Benefit Flat Foundation Brush
I have owned this brush for 4 years now and have hardly used it. I bought it when it was sold to me alongside the Benefit Oxygen Wow foundation. I didn’t like applying the foundation with it at all so I stashed it away in an old makeup back, never to be seen again until years later (literally). I only recently have started reusing it, following the purchase of the Chanel Vitalumière foundation which you can read my review of here. I love the way it applies the foundation, its so easy to use the way it evens out the coverage of the foundation. So happy I bought this brush all that time ago, it is now a crucial part of my everyday makeup routine and I couldn’t live without it!
2. L’Oreal Super Liner Superstar
This is a product that a friend recommended to me, and I am so grateful that she did! I can’t stop using this eyeliner, it really is perfect for me and being a drugstore product, it doesn’t break the bank either! I was so so wary of drugstore eyeliners before after having bad experience after bad experience with them, but now I know I can trust this one my confidence in them has been renewed.
It doesn’t smudge, lasts all day and night, gives a really fine line as well as a thicker line depending on how you choose to angle the pen-like nib – it’s just perfect.
3. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
I bought this product when I went to New York in February this year, however I ended up not liking it at first (bit like the benefit foundation brush). Once again it was a product that was sold to me through the manipulation of the beauty stall sellers. I have very dry skin but also a scar and bit of redness on my nose that always needs covering up, when I apply this concealer to it, it makes my dry bits of skin look flakey and simply gross. After witnessing that awfulness I decided to stash the product away somewhere and not use it again, until very recently. I haven’t been sleeping well recently and this has had an effect on my under-eyes massively. I use a MAC concealer already but sometimes even that can’t give me the coverage I need. So then I thought about the other concealers I have and pulled out this one, it worked perfectly! I don’t have any dry patches under my eyes fortunately so it worked just as I’m sure the product is intended to, goodbye dark circles!
4. BarryM Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Polish – ‘Dark Side of the Shroom’
This colour along with 3 others was released as part of the autumn range of the sunset daylight curing collection in September and I am really loving this one. I am a huge fan of nude nails because of how versatile they are and go with almost every outfit. This colour is beautiful and being part of the daylight curing selection has a gel-like finish which I am obsessed with. The nail polish lasts up to a week for me which is a pretty good feat considering I’m always busy doing things! Make sure you get the sunset topcoat though if you buy this nail polish as otherwise it won’t last or look nearly as nice!
5. MAC Lip Pencil – ‘Burgundy’
I picked this up in September because I wanted to try a lip liner from MAC after hearing so much about them, slow on the band wagon I know. I never really rated lip liners before but now I totally do! This one is amazing, the pigmentation in the colour leaves me imagining that this product will last me forever! It goes perfectly with my new MAC lipstick ‘DIVA’ (written about below) as well as my other MAC lipstick ‘Craving’ from the amplified creme range. When worn underneath both the lipsticks it increases the durability and adds an even more vivid colour which I love. I’m not one to over-line my lips, I simply like using the pencil to add definition and increase the staying power of the lipstick. I’ve even worn the liner just on its own before, it’s such a beautiful colour that is perfect for Autumn and Winter.
6. Wonderstruck – Taylor Swift
This is my Winter/Autumn Scent and always has been ever since it came out. I’ve started wearing it since September and will continue to do so probably until March, I love it that much. I tend to usually stick to perfumes I like instead of being adventurous with them and trying new ones, this one is no stranger to that. I have been re-purchasing Wonderstruck since it came out in 2012 and so it definitely deserves to have a mention here with it basically being my autumn/winter perfume that I haven’t stopped wearing this month!
7. Benefit Bronzer – ‘Dallas’
Once again, I bought this product almost a year ago, was unsure of it so then didn’t use it for a while. I’m now back to using it and I love it. I think one of the things I love most about this product is the smell, I don’t know why it just smells amazing. I’ve fallen back in love with bronzers after realising how best to apply the ones I own and this one has currently been the top of the list over the past month.
8. MAC Matte Lipstick -DIVA
The last week of September, upon payday of course, I payed a visit to my local Mac beauty stand in House of Fraser. I knew I wanted a really ‘Autumnal’ lip colour and I asked the beauty adviser just what she thought might suit what I was looking for. She introduced me to ‘Diva’. I have a blog post coming up soon upon this lipstick so I won’t go too much into it but my oh my am I in love with this. This incredibly dark and vampy crimson/plum colour just says Autumn to me in a single lip colour.
9. Burts Bees Nourishing Mango Butter Lip Balm
As September is the beginning of Autumn I knew I would be needing to pick up a new lip balm since my lips get dry so quickly during the colder months! This lip balm has been a life saver, I have mentions Burt’s Bees before in my ‘Back To School Essentials‘ post but since I’ve been using this product non-stop this month I just had to included it in my favourites! I have used a lot of lip balms but this one will forever be my favourite!!! It works so that your lips don’t look slobbery and gross, instead they look plump and hydrated.
