In just over a month my brother and his girlfriend are going to New York and I don’t think I could be more jealous. I went earlier this year for the first time with my friend, Hannah (as pictured below), and have since been desperate to go again!
(Feat: Throwback to Times Square, what I’d give to be there again right now even if it was -10°C …)
To cope with my jealousy I am setting my brother , George, and his girlfriend, Melissa, up with a shopping list full of beauty products of things that I simply can’t get a hold of in the UK without spending a fortune on postage! Here’s what it includes…
Tarte – Lights, Camera, Lashes
I have heard so much about this mascara and often watch you-tubers raving about it. My Benefit Rollarlash is unfortunately about to run out and so I’m looking to try something new, especially since I have become obsessed with Tarte!
Tarte – Tarteist Clay Paint Liner
I have been wanting to try this product out for months. I have watched endless you-tube videos of people trying and saying how easy to apply it is and how black it is and just everything I could ever want from an eyeliner. I love how unique it is as well, honestly look it up and you will see what I mean, I really cannot wait to try this out for myself.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – Ethereal light
You can get Hourglass products in the UK however only for a high price, whereas if I got it from the US I’ve worked out that I’d save £10 on the product. The reviews I have read on this product are amazing, people seem to agree that it transforms any look and makes you look like you are always in ‘good lighting’ I am really intrigued by this product, have any of you tried it before? I want to know if it really works!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo
I regret not buying this product in New York when I had the chance! I constantly see beauty gurus using it on their youtube channels! I currently use Soap and Glory’s brow pencil for my brows but want to try something new and I haven’t heard a bad word about this product! I have been struggling to decide between the dip brow and the brow powder, however what turned me more towards the powder was that I prefer natural looking brows, instead of dramatic looking which the dip brow is more famous for.
Becca Backlight Priming filter
I have never been a big user of primers but after seeing so many people’s first impressions and reviews of this on youtube, I have to have it. The description of this product reads:’A makeup primer to help blur imperfections and impart a radiant glow’ – two things I want to obtain very badly. This product is definitely up there with my ‘must haves’ for what I’d like George and Melissa to get for me!
Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfecter – Champagne Pop
The reviews I have read on this product have fully enticed me into wanting to try this product. I have only owned benefit highlighters being ‘Watt’s-Up’ and ‘High Beam’ however, I find ‘watt’s up’ is too thick for me and I’m generally not a fan of the application. ‘High Beam’ I find too watery and tends to pale me out when i’m not tanned. So I am finally moving onto a powder and I am so excited about this! Plus it’s Jaclyn Hill, the queen of highlight, so it’s got to be good right?
So that is all for my list so far, I am thinking of adding a contour kit as well but I haven’t found one that excites me enough just yet. The Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit is a potential addition but i’m still not fully convinced!
What’s your favourite contour method? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments!
